Housham Departs

Gainsborough Trinity and Steve Housham have parted company by mutual consent, following a meeting between the long serving boss and Club Chairman Richard Kane yesterday morning. Following a frank and open discussion between the two men, it was agreed that the time was right to make the change.

Despite a first round FA Cup tie against Shrewsbury Town, a famous victory over Wrexham and an impressive pair of results against Lincolnshire rivals Boston United, Trinity have struggled to perform consistently in the league - and with four straight losses, the Board of Directors acted to arrest the slide, before crunch games with sides below us in the table.

On the change Kane said "We as a club and I personally, would like to thank Steve for his efforts over the years and wish him all the best for the future."

Club Captain, Dominic Roma has been placed in temporary charge until the end of the season. Following discussions, Darryn Stamp has agreed to stay on as Assistant Manager and support Dom as he takes his first step on the managerial ladder.
