Striker Jacob Hazel Signs

Striker Jacob Hazel Signs

Following the release of Darryn Stamp, Marc Newsham and Craig Reid in the end of season shake up, Manager Dominic Roma has moved quickly to secure the signature of the highly sought after striker, Jacob Hazel. 23 year old front man, Hazel, signs for Trinity after a prolific season in front of goal for Frickley Athletic in the Evo-Stick League (Northern Premier - Premier Division), where he netted 23 times including 19 times in the league, with one penalty in that tally.

Prior to banging in the goals for Frickley, Jacob spent a season at Mickleover Sports, scoring 18 in 32 games as Sports won the Evo Stick, First Division South by nine points, from nearest rivals Leek Town. Stepping up again, with Gainsborough Trinity, Jacob is looking forward to linking up with captain elect, Nathan Jarman and Ashley Worsfold (an earlier summer signing from Buxton), in a fearsome looking front line.

“I’m really excited at the chance to step up and prove what I can do at the higher level. I’m really looking forward to hitting the ground running and to be fair, since I first spoke to Dom, I couldn’t help but be impre2ssed with how professional the whole set up at Gainsborough is.

Having come through the youth ranks at Chesterfield and making a couple of appearances, Hazel is an ambitious front man, who would relish the opportunity to play in the professional game once again. And this attitude is one that will drive him on in the Trinity shirt.

Manager, Dominic Roma commented, "Jacob is an athletic forward with a great attitude. He is comfortable playing up front in a two, or a three, so that will definitely give us options! And it never hurts when you are signing a forward with an eye for goal either!"

Capped by St Kitts & Nevis, Hazel brings an international flavour to the Martin & Co Arena. Welcome to the club, Jacob.
