On extending, Russ explained, "Stampy's going to stay on as Assistant Manager. I played with Stampy at Scunthorpe. We actually played together at Wembley when we beat Leyton Orient 1-0, so I know him well." Stamp was equally delighted to continue in the role, he initially took on, on a temporary basis back in September of 2022, insisting:

"I obviously know Russ from my time at Scunny and was delighted that he wanted me to stay. I enjoyed working with him as a player and now look forward to working with him in a coaching capacity. I’m sure the lads will love working with him as well so hopefully we can start to work our way back up the league!"

Here's hoping for a successful partnership in the dugouts for the Holy Blues, the two taking charge together, for the first time, at the Northolme on Saturday. Atherton Collieries are the visitors to DN21 in the Pitching In Northern Premier League, where Wilcox and Stamp will be looking at three points to kick start our campaign. Come on you Blues!
