Gainsborough will now welcome FC United of Manchester to the Northolme in a highly anticipated match. The Holy Blues currently sit 15th in the table with FC United of Manchester just one point behind in 16th. In the two consecutive away matches, Declan Howe was able to pick up three goals. His scoring form doesn’t seem to end as he now has nine goals for the season, since arriving from Ilkeston Town just seventy days ago.

FC United of Manchester have scored eight goals in the past three games and have further bolstered their attacking options having brought in Warrington Town striker, Jordan Buckley, for an undisclosed transfer fee, to try and add to that tally. Players Gainsborough need to look out for are Luke Griffiths and Dontai Gabidon. Luke Griffiths is currently on a goal drought and has not scored in 7 games, but his quality cannot be disputed. The 25 year old playmaker has scored 6 goals this season and is top scorer for our opponents. Dontai Gabidon has just joined the Reds this summer as one of 7 summer signings, and at the moment he is a man in form with 2 in his last 2. Gainsborough will be trying to contain them to the best of their ability.

The Trinity defence will be hard at work, but so will the attackers. Justin Iwobi will have another chance to show his talent at the Kal Group Stadium. The Halifax loanee only played one of the two away games due to a failed fitness test in Marske, but will no doubt be champing at the bit, as the games continue to come around quickly.

The away side have only picked up one win in the past five games, drawing twice and losing on two occasions, totalling five points, a point per game. Comparatively, Gainsborough have won 2 drawn 1 and lost 2 in the past five (picking up seven points). One thing for sure is that Gainsborough has the quality to hit the back of the net. The 3pm kick off will be the first for The Blues in December as they look to climb up the table just before the New Year, ready to kick on in the second half of the season. So get yourselves along to DN21, nail your colours firmly to the mast and watch two teams go out there looking for all three points.
