A massive game awaits the Holy Blues, as they take on Macclesfield after the senior team took a 3-1 defeat to Marine. Boss, Russ Wilcox hinting at changing the way the team plays as they need to be more solid. Maybe today we will see a new style of play against the Silkmen. There were good performances against Marine however, Butroid was very impressive and got a well-deserved goal to round off the performance.

Macclesfield in their last game drew 0-0 with Workington away from home and manager Alex Bruce mentioned how it was two points dropped. Macclesfield did play well against Workington and had multiple, glorious opportunities to score. He stated with the amount of travelling his team have had to do this week there will be fresh faces this week. The 0-0 in midweek, following hot on the heels of a 3-4 home defeat to Bradford (Park Avenue). A game they led three times, only to be pulled back to level, on three occasions before Jordan Preston (our own, Fraser Preston's brother) grabbed the final goal of a topsy-turvey thriller! Both teams are coming into a game after they have had a scoreline they believe didn’t justify the overall team performance, making this a game not to miss.

With Gainsborough’s recent defensive woes, Kane Drummond is a player we need to be aware of. The 23 year old is in a rich vein of form, netting seven in his last five games including four goals in one game against Atherton Colleries. If Gainsborough are more solid however their ultimate goal will be keeping Drummond quiet!
