Last time the sides met at the Turnbull, on a Tuesday night in September, those that made the pilgrimage from Gainsborough were treated to something quite special! Can the current crop of Trinity talent give half a dozen reasons to be cheerful? Since the turn of the year, Trinity have picked up three wins in four games away from home. The only defeat coming away at FC United of Manchester. Two 1-0 wins, at Guiseley and Atherton, were followed up by a fine 4-1 victory over Warrington Rylands.

During the same period, at home, Whitby have won four and drawn one, keeping three clean sheets and scoring ten times. The Seasiders' victories coming against Hyde United, Basford and Ilkeston. The most recent three point haul coming in midweek, against Matlock Town. Whitby's Stephen Walker netted the only goal of the game at home to the Gladiators. The 1-0 win opening up a five point gap over the Holy Blues. Perhaps meaning our hosts start as slight favourites ahead of the Pitching In Northern Premier League clash. Despite the form table stating otherwise, Trinity will no doubt go into this one as underdogs, something the boss will look to use to our advantage:

"We are all looking forward to the weekends away trip to Whitby. The first of three away games in a week. Hopefully our supporters will come out in force after our excellent form of late. The players are in a good place at the moment, but this will be a very difficult game against a team pushing for the play-offs."

The Holy Blues will be looking to put down a marker at the start of a busy seven days on the road. Games against Matlock Town and Ashton United follow for Trinity, playing with refound confidence and belief. And with new signing, Connor Shanks, hopefully in line to take his place in the match day squad, there's plenty of optimisim around the place!
