Since joining the Holy Blues in January 2022, Conway has gone on to make 53 appearances across two spells. Conway made his 50th appearance in the home game against Workington. Incidentally, the game he netted his first goal at the Kal Group Stadium and only his second in Trinity colours. Adding the fourth goal in a 4-2 win over the Reds. Quite a remarkable feat, that somehow went under the radar. His first goal, in Gainsborough colours came last season in the 1-1 draw with Atherton Collieries.

Helping Trinity to remain undefeated in 62% of the games he has played in, including 23 wins and twelve draws, Bailey’s performances in the heart of the Gainsborough Trinity engine room have endeared himself to the Trinity faithful.

More recognised for his tough tackling, brave blocks and his ability to get around the pitch, than his ability to put the ball in the back of the net, it cannot be underestimated the role that Bailey plays in the heart of the midfield.

"Absolutely delighted to get Bailey signed and sealed for next season." declared Wilcox. "He’s a key signing for us. He has been outstanding this season, the only games he has missed have really been through suspension. Bailey is a key cog in the machine, and he’s still only 21."

Bailey doesn’t turn 22 until August, but will regularly cover every blade of grass, twice over. Something not lost on his current Manager, Russ Wilcox: "Bailey has played a lot of games already for his age, and is a good signing for us. He gives us so much desire, energy and commitment. I am really pleased to get him nailed down for next season."

Bailey Conway is one of a number of players to sign contract renewals on Wednesday evening. And these players will be announced over the coming days. Conway joins leading scorer Declan Howe, in committing for the season ahead, while Dayle Southwell was already under contract for the 2024/25 season.
