Having spurned two early chances from Russell and Simmons, Kings charges also saw last ditch blocks and challenges deny Worsfold, Wilson Simmons and Byrne. Indeed the visitors only effort of real note in a very stop-start first half saw Edge fire a free-kick into the left stanchion. Worsfold had two goals chalked off either side of the interval, the first being a very marginal offside call when he coolly slotted home. The second came with Trinity finding their feet after half-time. Bizarrely a free-kick for offside saw Strickland pass back to Hilton but his first touch allowed Worsfold to rob and round him before slotting home. It transpired that the free-kick had not been taken much to the frustration of the players and fans alike.

Then Byrne's floated ball found Wilson. He took a touch before attempting to nutmeg Hilton who blocked with his heel. Against the run of play, Murray with his first touch and, the visitors second shot of the game, turned and fired into the top left from 10 yards to give Green no chance.

The game opened up with Marine looking for a second where most would run down the clock. The Holy Blues however rallied with Hannah on for a late cameo. With the angle increasingly against him on the right he curled a classy effort just the wrong side of the far post.
