Colin Hendry and Michael Dawson Commit

Premier League winner Colin Hendry is the first name to be confirmed as part of the opposition for our 150th Year Anniversary Premier League Legends Event. Representing the Premier League Legends XI, Braveheart, as he is affectionately known, was capped by Scotland more than 50 times, including appearing at Euro 96 and playing in the Battle of Britain game watched by 76,864 at Wembley Stadium. Two years later, Hendry was part of the Tartan Army's World Cup squad.

Making over 500 first team appearances, and netting his fair share of goals from centre back, as a player, Colin had a reputation as a fearless competitor. Named in the PFA Team of the Year the season Blackburn won the league, we are fortunate to be graced with his presence on the Northolme turf. Since retiring from playing, Hendry has managed Blackpool and Clyde, whilst earlier this season appeared in the opposition dugout when the Holy Blues faced Radcliffe in the Pitching In Northern Premier League.

Michael Dawson

Former Nottingham Forest, Tottenham Hotspur and Hull City centre back Michael Dawson is the second name on the Premier League XI roster for our Premier League Legends Event, to be held at the Northolme on Saturday 3rd June for a 1pm kick off. And with him set to partner Colin Hendry at the heart of the opposition defence, Neil Warnock will need to have a cunning plan to find a way past this central defensive unit.

Beginning his career in the youth team with the Trickie Trees, Dawson racked up well over 450 appearances in the Football League and Premier League. Also capped on four occasions for the Three Lions, Dawson is still only 39 years of age! Now a regular TV pundit on Sky Sports, back in 2016, Dawson helped Hull City bounce back to the Premier League, helping the Tigers to Play-Off victory at Wembley when they beat Sheffield Wednesday.
