Neal said: "Dylan is the natural pick to be the skipper, he has been fantastic since he stepped through the door. I think he can go up another level in terms of his leadership and managing the dressing room. I think he has got that in him. He managed the group on a few occasions last season and relished the opportunity, so I think he is ready for the responsibility that comes with the armband."

"He is a big part of everything we want to do this season, he was virtually an ever present last season, he's a great lad, a great defender and we are very lucky to have him. It was a no brainer, after speaking to the rest of the staff, that we believe he is ready to step up and lead the group this year.

Beginning his first full season with the Holy Blues, following his arrival from Scarborough Athletic at the end of August, Cogill couldn't hide his pride in having the captaincy bestowed upon him, "I’m delighted to be named Club Captain, it’s something I’ve always aspired to be at one point in my career and I’m buzzing that Bish and his staff have given me the opportunity. It brings more responsibility, but it's something I’ll not shy away from and I look forward to the role."

Reflecting on last season, Cogill is keen to focus on the future, as he addresses the turnover within the squad, "Last year was heart breaking coming so close but we achieved so much as a group. This year, with the turnaround in players, will bring new challenges but it’s something to relish and I have every faith the lads Bish and his staff have already brought in - and the ones to come - that we can give a good account of ourselves and be up there again this year."

The role of the support is not lost on Cogill, as he pays tribute to the Trinity faithful, recognising the backing of the Blue Army - and imploring supporters to come out again in force, "The fans have been superb since I came in and we will need everyone of them to get behind the team and drive us on."

Good luck with your new role leading the group, Dylan. Everyone is behind you!
