Talented Iwobi Afforded Opportunity to Shine

The Holy Blues are delighted to confirm the capture of exciting teenager Justin Iwobi on loan from FC Halifax for an initial one month loan. The explosive 6 foot 4 inch Iwobi, who turns nineteen next month is a product of the Stoke City Academy and is tipped as one for the future at Halifax. A different option to the forward line due to his raw pace and power will provide boss, Russ Wilcox with a different dimension when looking to unlock stubborn Northern Premier League defences.

A regular for Stoke City in the U18s Premier League side that finished 5th last season the teenager, has been around the Vanarama National League side's matchday squad a number of times so far this season, but to help him in the next stage of his career, Gainsborough Trinity & Russ Wilcox have been entrusted in helping the youngster take the next steps in his journey, whilst hopefully moving the Holy Blues forward, in the right direction.

We have a very busy month ahead with seven games in a hectic month, Justin is going to come in and add competition for places. You can see he's highly thought of at Halifax - as he has featured a number of times on the bench for them in the Vanarama National League."
