Scoring the spectacular solo goal, in Trinity's 2-1 win. Thta game was part of a two month loan with our Northern Premier League rivals where he made nine appearances in total. As a youngster, he grew up in the Bradford City youth team, making his first team bow in the EFL Trophy. He moved from the Bantams to Huddersfield Town, from whom he went out on loans to Nuneaton and Boston United.

Following the termination of his contract with Huddersfield, he joined Spennymoor, in January 2023. Going on to make thirty appearances in all competitions. Shanks however, found game time limited this season. Linking up with the other Bradford, Bradford (Park Avenue), for a couple of months. Still only 21 and now, joining Russ Wilcox's Holy Blues, the Trinity boss is delighted to land his man:

"He’s a player I’ve admired for a while. I tried to sign him for Farsley when he was at Huddersfield. Technically he is very good, as he showed when scoring for BPA in our game earlier in the season. He will add quality and competition to the group. He can play in numerous positions in midfield and wide areas. Welcome to Gainsborough Connor."

May we echo the welcome afforded Connor, by the boss. And wish him well during his stay at the club. Subject to League and FA ratification, Connor will link up with the squad for tomorrow’s trip to Whitby Town. Read the preview of the game, now on our website here.
