On the signing, manager Wilcox enthused: "I'm delighted to have signed Joe Stacey after his contract expired at Alfreton. He came in on loan and made an immediate impact scoring on his debut against Basford United. He’s very versatile, playing various positions and is an excellent addition to the group." Following on, new signing Stacey explained:

"After having a strong start to last season I got a move up the football pyramid to the National League North, but didn’t see the game time I was promised. Joining Gainsborough on loan for the remainder of last season was the best decision I made. Top fans, team mates and staff, and most importantly I enjoyed being a part of it."

As attention turns to the upcoming 2024/25 season, the versatile 26 year old, Sheffield born baller hopes, "The good form and success we found towards the end of the season can be replicated this year, from the off, and to be rewarded with a play off or promotion spot would be brilliant!"

Stacey Joins Russ Wilcox’s squad, that so far includes:

Dayle Southwell
Declan Howe
Fraser Preston
Bobby Johnson
Lewis Butroid
Bailey Conway
Ashley Jackson
Javelle Clarke

Javelle will step up his return from injury, following a lengthy layoff sustained in the defeat to Ilkeston back in December. Please join us in extending a warm welcome back to Trinity for Joe. It doesn't seem like two minutes ago you were here last! We're proud to have you as a fully-fledged member of the Gainsborough Trinity family!

The Holy Blues are scheduled to return to pre-season training on Thursday 27th June, and are first in action, away, on Tuesday July 9th, against an as yet unannounced opponent. Finalised dates for pre-season fixtures will be announced in the coming days, so keep your eyes across social media and the website for our latest news.
