The 56 year old brings a wealth of experience and contacts, both within the professional and semi-professional game, in a career spanning four decades. Holding the UEFA A Coaching License since 2007, plus making over 500 professional appearances, including a seventeen year association with the Owls, Pressman will have the ability to develop the goalkeepers associated with the club, as well as bringing fresh eyes to the party.

Farewell

As a result of Pressman's appointment, both Darryn Stamp and Jamie Bradley depart the club, following the expiration of their contracts. The pair have served the club superbly, providing Wilcox with the support he needed during the transition period. Stampy initially came in following the departure of Damon Parkinson and immediately settled back into life at Trinity. We thank him for his time, and know he will always be welcome, having served as a Player, Assistant and Interim Manager during his long association with the club.

Jamie, who worked with a number of goalkeepers over a two year spell, always had time for a chat with supporters, quickly becoming a popular face at matches.

Wilcox thanked the departing duo, the boss clearly delighted to get an important part of his backroom puzzle sorted. "A big thank you to both Darryn Stamp and Jamie Bradley for their work at the football club. Stampy has served as assistant manager for the last 18 months in his 3rd spell for the club, with Jamie being here for the last 2 seasons. I wish them well in the future."

Pressman

Pressman is looking forward to getting back on the grass, with players reporting back for pre-season training, soon. "I worked with Russ at Scunthorpe and Northern Ireland, and have always stayed in touch over the years. I bring a lot of experience from my playing career, playing in the Premiership, and from my involvement with the England seniors."

Continuing, the former number one explained, "My coaching career has seen me promoted with Scunthorpe to the Championship, and a successful time with Millwall, before recently spending over two years at Grantham Town as Goalkeeper Coach and Academy Manager. I gained many contacts in non-league through my time at Grantham as a goalkeeping coach. I have brought young keepers on to have a career in the game, and also given senior keepers international caps for their countries."

Wilcox also welcomed the new man to the club, who is no stranger to himself. "I’m absolutely delighted to bring Kevin Pressman in to the club as goalkeeper coach/first team coach. He will also help me and Daniel Solts (who made a massive impact from when he joined us on the 15th February 2024) with the outfield work in training and on match days."

"KP coming to Gainsborough Trinity is a massive coup for the football club. He had an incredible career as a player, representing Sheffield Wednesday for 17 years, mainly in the Premiership. In total he made over 500 1st team appearances. And his coaching career is just as impressive, holding a UEFA A coaching licence since 2007. His knowledge, experience and know-how to the work moving forward will be invaluable to everyone at the football club."

As a Club, we wish both departing coaches, and gentlemen, all the very best for their futures, whatever they decide to do next. And we welcome Kevin to DN21. Here's to a successful stay! Onwards and upwards.
