Draws against Ilkeston (on opening day) and wins against Leek Town and Matlock Town, helping the yellow-bellied Holy Blues pick up the majority of points on the road, despite playing less games away from home, so far in this hectic opening couple of months of the season. Robbie Savage’s table toppers have played five at home, four in the league. In the league they’ve picked up ten points from a possible twelve available. Only dropping the two points, in a 1-1 draw with Hyde United on August Bank Holiday Monday.

Ten days prior to the fixture with Russ Wilcox’s men, Macc brushed aside higher ranked opposition in the Emirates FA Cup, defeating South Shields 5-0, to set up a Cheshire derby against Witton Albion on Saturday. The same day the Holy Blues travel North to Darlington’s Blackwell Meadows.

Averaging an attendance of 2,652, at home, greater than the two sides sitting second and third in the table currently (FC United of Manchester and Stockton Town) it’s fair to say that the Cheshire based-high-fliers are well backed, both on and off the field. But Trinity will be looking to send home what’s set to be another bumper crowd unhappy, in the only Pitching In Northern Premier League clash of the day.

Will Russ Wilcox’s men get the better of Savage’s Step 3 superstars? Trinity look like having to do things the hard way, with Dayle Southwell, Bobby Johnson and Sisa Tuntulwana all still expected to be out on Tuesday night.

FA Trophy

The draw has taken place for the Isuzu FA Trophy, and Russ Wilcox's men have been handed an away fixture, against Southern Central League outfit, Kettering Town. The Third Qualifying Round tie will be held at Kettering's Latimer Park home, on Saturday 5th October 2024 (3pm kick off).
