Joining his hometown club, McMenemy will be making the step up, having made 85 appearances for the Whites. With 67 goal involvements (seventeen this season, including eight goals) Trinity are getting a striker in great form, who is relishing the opportunity to pull on the blue shirt. “It’s an honour to play for my hometown club and a chance I couldn’t turn down. Really grateful to Lincoln United allowing me to make the step up, the FA Vase run last year was a massive highlight from my time with the Whites, and memories that will live long in the memory. I can’t wait to get started now, with Gainsborough! See you all on Tuesday!”

Top scoring for the Whites last season, McMenemy started his career across Lincoln, at Lincoln City. He has also spent time at Grantham Town, Bottesford Town and Cleethorpes Town, but is now ready to grasp the opportunity to challenge himself two levels higher.

With long term injury to forwards Dayle Southwell and Edwin Essel, and the return of Josiah Dyer to parent club Barnsley, Trinity have been down to the bare bones in terms of central strikers, but boss, Russ Wilcox has been happy to bide his time, before bringing in the right sort of player:

“I am delighted to bring Jack to the club. We know all about him, with him being a local lad, and have watched his development closely. He is joining a very together group. And we are delighted to have him on board.”

Thanks must also go Lincoln United for the way they have handled the approach. Lincolnshire clubs working together, hand in hand. We extend our best wishes to the Whites for the remainder of the season. And, welcome Jack.

In other news, you will have seen that George Hornshaw has returned to the club, following a period away from the game. He was involved in the Emirates FA Cup First Round match against Hednesford, cooly converting from the spot in the intense penalty shootout victory. Welcome back, George!
