Prior to his re-signing, Curtis had again struggled for rhythm. A turbulent time at former club Matlock, had seen him in and out of the team there, as they burnt through 58 players in their ultimately fruitless request to remain in the Pitching In Northern Premier League.

Now, determined to make up for lost time, Durose is ready to buckle down and put in the hard yards, with Strength and Conditioning Coach Daniel Solts during the close season, and get himself in the best shape possible, to hit the heights that he knows he is capable of. The heights the Trinity faithful recall from when he was a virtual ever present in the side that reached the NPL Play-Offs under Neal bishop in 2022/23. A season that saw Durose net 14 times in 49 appearances.

Speaking after extending his stay at Gainsborough, Curtis admitted, “I can’t wait! Especially after the season just gone! Obviously last season was a difficult one for me personally, but I am buzzing that Russ wants me back next season. This is the club I want to be at.. and show the fans and the coaching staff the standards I can get to.”

“Getting a tough off season and pre-season into the legs will prepare me for what the season bring and I can’t wait for it to start. It’s time to kick on now, and have a good season, both personally and collectively.”

Boss, Russ Wilcox admitted, "Curtis came in during our amazing cup runs. With him being cup-tied in both competitions, it was difficult to get in the team. It's now a clean slate, and he can fight for a place on a level playing field. Everyone knows the quality he has, but he has to work hard and fight for his spot in a squad that is very competitive."

Durose is added to the squad that is already beginning to take shape. So far, we can confirm, Sisa Tuntulwana is already under contract, starting his second year of a two-year deal. Sisa and Curtis are joined by local lad, and second top scorer from last season, Lewis Butroid. Influential midfielder Bobby Johnson, and midfield dynamo Jordan Helliwell. Goalkeeper, David Robson is the final one of those confirmed so far, taking the number to half a dozen, with more announcements in the pipeline.
