Clarke Ready to Soar with Full Pre-Seaaon

Versatile, young attacking talent Javelle Clarke can now be confirmed as staying at Gainsborough Trinity for the upcoming 2025/26 season after agreeing terms with the Holy Blues. Having joined in the Summer of 2023/24, when he was signed by Neal Bishop from Brighouse Town, successfully returned from a ten month spell on the side lines to become a key part of Russ Wilcox's squad.

The former Sheffield United youngster said, "I am excited for another season at Gainsbrough we have made a lot of rememberable memories this season with the FA Cup runs and finishing well in the league after a long season and a lot of games."

"I was glad to come back from a long term injury and be straight back into the squad playing a part, mentally it was tough but the staff and players got me back to it quicker than everybody thought. Now, this season I am confident we will be in the play offs and looking for promotion and have another exciting season and personally, getting more goals on my tally, which I know I can do."

Javelle’s quick feet, trickery, and pace across the ground, all elements that get the Trinity faithful on their feet. He netted the opening goal in the FA Trophy win away at Clitheroe, shortly before being the catalyst in the Hednesford comeback. Twice assisting Declan Howe as the Blues came back from 3-0 down with less than half an hour to play, before scoring the equaliser, to make it 4-4 and take the game to penalties.

Clarke is another of the players boss Russ Wilcox was keen to keep, and pleased to re-signIt’s great to see two more players committing for next season. "It’s brilliant to see Javelle commit for next season. Delighted to see him back playing after his serious injury. He had a big influence last season playing in numerous positions for us."

That versatility gives the Holy Blues options going into the new season, and with Wilcox typically preferring to operate with a smaller squad, provides that extra dimension.
