Seventeen points from ten away games give the Blues the best points per game return, at this stage of the season - Trinity will be hopeful of replicating - if not bettering that return - in the second half of the campaign. And how best to start that - with a win on Tuesday, Trinity going into the game, against the side in tenth, a place below us in the table. A point behind, but having played three games more. While the Blues were coming from behind to secure a point, thanks to debutant Henry Brown's well taken equaliser - Ashton were going down 3-2 away at Lancaster City's Giant Axe. Twice they begged back the Dolly Blues, only to go down by the odd goal in five.

Ashton stunned Trinity on the opening day of the 2025/26 campaign. Luca Navarro coming off the bench to score twice. And the Blues will be determined not to let the same thing happen again - this time away from home. Eighteen points from twelve home games, Ashton have won five, drawn three and lost four on home turf. Scoring 15, conceding 18. Another former Blue to watch out for, in the Ashton side, is the creative Alex Byrne who still features regularly, this one promises to be a good match up and will prove a good test for Russ Wilcox's side.

If results go Trinity's way, on the night, the Blues could close the gap on the final play off place - to three points - with four games still in hand. It's exciting times to be a Holy Blue - so strap in for a crazy ride, that will see the games coming thick and fast throughout February. Ash Jackson is available following his dismissal at the weekend. Due to the nature of the sending off (two yellow cards) the decision cannot be challenged. He will miss the game against his former side, Leek Town, at the weekend.

Last Season

The results between the two sides, last season, went the way of the away side. Ashton winning 1-0 at the Kal Group Stadium. Darius Osei scoring the winner, back in August. But the Blues coming out on top in April, thanks to goals from Declan Howe and Lewis Butroid, in a 2-0 win. A similar theme followed on Tuesday - would certainly have the Blue Army believing!
