On that occasion, the Holy Blues picked up an impressive 3-1 win on the road, to leapfrog the side from Lancashire. And Russ Wilcox’s men will be looking for another three points, to open up a gap on the play-off chasers. Currently sitting two places outside the play-offs, Brig have picked up 46 points from their 30 games so far & boast a better record away from home… much the same as Russ Wilcox’s men.

Incredibly, a win would also see the Holy Blues just three points behind current league leaders Hednesford Town, who do not play this weekend. It’s their free weekend this time around, due to Widnes’ resignation from the league in the summer. It’s tight at the top!

Bamber Bridge have picked up 22 points on their travels, against 14 on home turf. Six wins, four draws and five losses make up their points tally. Conceding a goal a game, whilst scoring nineteen times on the road. Since the turn of the year, Russ Wilcox’s men have been picking up points regularly, averaging 2.1 points per game. An away defeat to Leek Town, back at the start of February, was a rare blemish, as Trinity have played a monster game of catch up in terms of fixtures.

Since January 17th, and the win over Morpeth Town at the Kal Group Stadium, the Holy Blues have played nine games in 38 days, winning four, drawing three and losing just the once. Saturday represents the tenth game, in 42 days. An incredible sequence, that takes Trinity’s season tally of competitive games to forty games (the equivalent to the entire league season – by the end of February!

With ten games of the standard season to play (nine after Saturday) and hopefully a spot in the coveted end of season play-off spots, it’s possible the Blues will once again surpass the 50 game mark – and that could be an incredible feat for some of these players that have been at the club in each of the two previous seasons.
