The Trinity preparations continue, ahead of the opening to the Pitching In Northern Premier League campaign, on Saturday 8th August, with Trinity’s first opponent now known. And attention beginning shift towards our opening day fixture, against Workington, at the Kal Group Stadium.

Until then, fitness remains the order of the day for Wilcox’s Holy Blues - and the hope that new goalkeeper, Callum Hawkins isn't out for too long, after his early withdrawal, in the Lincolnshire Senior County Cup victory over Lincoln United.

Wilcox’s men have been amongst the goals in the opening two games of pre-season. The men on the mark have pleasingly been spread around so far. Both Connor Brown & Javelle Clarke have two to their name, whilst Lewis Butroid, Theo Williams, Jack Leckie & AN Trialist was also on the mark at Frickley, in the blistering heat.

Once again, a number of the U21s will be given the opportunity to be a part of the first team set up, as they continue their development alongside the senior squad.

A quartet of former Blues, are listed in the Basford squad. Shot-stopper Matt Yates is now in his second season at the club, having signed there from Ilkeston. Former winger, Terry Hawkridge, now patrols the middle of the park, whilst Nyle Blake and James Tague are just a couple of attacking options in the opposition squad.
