Despite it being Trinity's first foray into the Emirates FA Cup 2026/27 edition, Sherwood have already navigated their way through two rounds of the competition, to reach this stage and set up a home tie with Russ Wilcox's Step 3 side.

Sherwood Colliery, who play at Step 5, and ply their trade in the United Counties League, knocked out Step 4 side Boston Town in the last round. Nathaniel Crofts was on the mark for the Debdale Park side. Croft having previously faced Trinity, when he played for Matlock Town.

His won't be the only familiar face however. Indeed there is much more of a familiar face. A sibling rivalry in fact, when footballing brothers go face to face. The Preston brothers add further intrigue to the tie. Fraser facing off against his older brother, who will be surely looking to get the upper hand against his kid brother!

Trinity's Fraser has been in excellent form in the opening month of the season. Scoring and assisting a few, he has also picked up the Trinity Travel Club Player of the Month Award. Important goals coming against Workington & FC United of Manchester, whilst assisting in games against Quorn & Stockton. At the time of writing; he is also still in with a shout of winning the Paddockwood Forge Ltd Player of the Month for August, too.. It has certainly been an eye catching month for Fraser, who will be looking to add to his tally, as we move into September!

Our hosts played in midweek, away at Newark Town. Winning 4-2 on their travels, they left it late to record all three points. Scoring three goals in the final eleven minutes - and climbing to 11th, with a much improved goal difference, compared to Kimberley Miners Welfare.

The Holy Blues will be in the change, yellow away kit for this game. Sherwood wearing blue. So let's hope to see a wave of yellow from the travelling Trinity support. Our hosts have advised that admission for Saturday's tie are priced at £8 Adults, £5 Concessions & £1 Under 16s.
