Their last game at the Don Amott Arena was a 3-1 loss to Whitby Town, despite taking an early lead. Patrick Webb scored his third goal in two games before an 83rd minute goal secured all three points for Whitby. Sports are still in play-off contention though, which is impressive considering they finished in 19th during their last campaign. They currently sit in 13th place with 37 points, 10 points off Nantwich Town in the play-off places so will be looking for all three points to close the gap.

The Holy Blues announced the contract extension of manager Curtis Woodhouse on a two and half year deal on Thursday, which sees him stay at the club until at least May 2022. The former Tadcaster Albion man has impressed since taking over the reins from Liam King and Ross Hannah that has seen the club climb out of the relegation zone.

On signing the extension, the manager had this to say: "I’m delighted really to get everything over the line and extend my contract to be here for another two and a half years. It’s something I was keen on doing as soon as possible really to end any speculation regarding my future, and I didn’t want that to spread throughout the team. I wanted it to be known to everybody, players included, that I have a long-term vision for the football club. When I’m speaking to the players about their future, it’s nice for them to know that I’m also dedicated to the cause. It was important that I got it done as soon as possible really and we can start to plot the rest of the season and then moving forward."

He continued, "It’s been a really difficult job to be fair, coming in in really tough circumstances, but the lads have been different class and really dragged us away from that relegation zone. But now it’s a different remit, to now try and establish ourselves in the mid-table this season and then next season aim for the playoffs. I think we can put together a competitive squad, and with a little bit of luck we can aim to get in that top five and then anything goes from there. The long term aim for the football club is to be back in the conference north and I’m hoping that within my two and a half year contact that’s been achieved."

Trinity sit in 16th place but could climb up to as high as 10th with a victory and would take over the opposition, although Mickleover would have two games in hand. Gregg Smith has been on fine form and will be looking to continue this tomorrow afternoon. Once again, the first team really appreciate all your support this season and we look forward to seeing you at Mickleover Sports. Make sure to cheer the lads onto another impressive victory, especially after the great news of Curtis Woodhouse’s contract extension.
