On the Road with the Holy Blues

With the news breaking on Sunday of the proposed structure for the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League, the Gainsborough Trinity Media Team set about researching the miles from fortress Northolme, also known as the Martin & Co Arena to the various northern outposts that Liam King and Ross Hannah's Blue army will have to travel to and conquer should Gainsborough succeed in a successful assault. Recently promoted Morpeth provide the longest journey at just over 310 miles for a round trip from Lincolnshire!

Mariners Park, home of last season's runners up South Shields is another jaunt for the Holy Blues, while Warrington and Whitby, Bamber Bridge and Lancaster City, Nantwich Town and Atherton Colleries all but touch the 200 mile mark for the round trip! Those shorter journeys include Lincolnshire rivals Grantham Town, Basford United of Nottinghamshire, Matlock Town - hidden away in Derbyshire and Stalybridge Celtic (quite surprisingly closer than you would have thought).
