The first order of business was to retain the management duo of Neal Bishop and Darryn Stamp for the 2023/24 Pitching In Northern Premier League season. This was imperative to give the management team the best possible opportunity to build on last season's undoubted success. Having the continuity, enabling them to retain the players they wanted and coupled with fresh targets, as a football club we can look to build on the enjoyment of last season.

The Shareholder issue needed to be addressed, and with a Board Meeting called, lots was discussed. Pete Wallace and Maureen Lobley opted to relinquish their shares. Pete's shares being donated back to the club, whereas Maureen expressed her desire to transfer her significant shareholding across to Dave Horsley. The third major shareholder, John Myskiw opting to keep his shares, expressing a desire to renew his commitment to the football club, following a period away from the boardroom.

As a Board, and as a Football Club, we cannot underestimate our thanks to both Pete and Maureen, they are always welcome at the Northolme. Dave and John were unanimously elected as interim co Chairmen by the Board Members present. The club, with these two individuals at the helm, is in safe hands. Both were quick to pay tribute to the departing trio, placing on record their thanks and appreciation for all they have done during their involvement with the football club.

Dave and John are committed to the football club and are open to people coming forward that are interested in becoming Chair Person/a Director at Gainsborough Trinity Football Club. Interested parties can contact Dave Horsley on 07971 022024 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

One other aspect to come out of the Board Meeting was the structure of the Board. The two tier Board of Directors has been disbanded, with a collective, single tier the preferred choice. Renewing lines of communication, value and appreciation of all members of the Board was an important consideration given to this decision, along with a commitment to restoring monthly Board Meetings. And especially in the early days, on a more frequent basis. There is still much to be done, and going on behind the scenes.

Partnerships

Commercially, members of the Board are working tirelessly to renew exsisting partnerships and bring in fresh sponsorship. And we encourage businesses and individuals to come forward to see how we can help one another, for what we hope proves to be another exciting and successful season.

As a football club, we want to deepen our roots within the community. It is imperative that we can operate in a sustainable manner; with the help of the town, and the community as a whole, this is possible. We as a Board want to speak to as many like minded people as possible, and really help this club grow from strength to strength. We want to work closely with supporters, to ensure everyone has a voice, and everyone is shouting from the roof tops that we are Gainsborough Trinity and we are proud. Dialogue has been opened with some supporters keen to form a trust, that will explore fundraising opportunities amongst other things. A full update will be provided as this group begins to gain momentum.

Remember that although it's the close season, people are incredibly busy behind the scenes, working hard, ready to welcome you back through the gates on Saturday 12th August (the confirmed start date of the league campaign).

On the Field

On June 3rd, we continue our on field 150th Year Anniversary celebrations when we welcome Robbie Fowler and the Premier League Legends for a fun, festival of football. We've got the raffle running to be Robbie's Assistant on the day, a Silent Auction running to be able to take to the field and face off against the likes of Grant Holt and Colin Hendry, plus brilliant opportunities to meet and greet. If you haven't already, take a look at sponsoring a player, or grabbing yourself and your family a ticket for the game. It's going to be a great occasion!

And finally, for now, and perhaps most importantly, back to the on-field matters. Bish and Stampy are hard at work: meeting players, speaking to targets, their families or agents, and selling the football club. The first moves into the market are about to bare fruit, so be sure to follow Gainsborough Trinity on social media and keep checking the website for news and information.

Season Tickets for the 2023/24 campaign will be on sale shortly, as will the pre-season fixture schedule - and details on a great incentive to be a part of the home shirt design, so keep your eyes peeled in the coming days and weeks! It's certainly an exciting time to be a Trinity supporter.
