Now looking to establish himself in Neal Bishop's new look side, McCauley spoke of his relief at getting the deal over the line, "I am delighted to finally get everything sorted. I had been speaking to the manager for a few weeks now and we share the same passion of how the game should be played. I think it’s the perfect fit for me to get back playing regularly and scoring goals, and ultimately enjoying my football again."

As with the other players remaining from last season, and those coming into the football club over the summer so far, there is a real belief within the camp that the team can be up and around the promotion chasers, with Snelgrove no exception to this mindset:

"I think the aim of everyone in the club is to get one better than last year and get promoted. After the first session tonight (Tuesday), I can tell the quality is there to do that. From players and staff, we all have to have that belief we can be challenging at the top end again."

The non-league Jack Grealish spent time on loan at Cleethorpes Town. Whilst with the Owls he made eleven appearances, including making a flying start to life in Lincolnshire, netting three times in his first three games. A similar start at the Northome will no doubt endear himself to the Trinity faithful. "It's fair to say, my first loan at Cleethropes was a success, and I scored a few goals, and that's something I want to do here."

His second loan spell certainly helped to develop McCauley as an individual. Not just as a footballer as he played for Danske Bank Premiership side Crusaders, "I’ve been out in Northern Ireland last season and matured as a person and as a player. Obviously, living alone out there, I came back a better person learning from top, experienced professionals, which will do me the world of good going into the men’s game for a full season here at Trinity."

Leaving the club he has been at since the U9s age group may well be a tough challenge for Snelgrove to overcome, but he seems to have the heart, desire and talent to begin the climb back up the footballing ladder, and here at DN21 is the perfect platform for him to showcase his undoubted talents.

On landing the signature of hot prospect McCauley, Blues' boss Neal Bishop explained that he had been a long term admirer of the attacker, "Macca is again someone we identified last season, but obviously couldn't bring him in, because we were at our loan maximum at the time, but we kept in contact and are delighted to get him in. He's another forward thinking player who will add goals and assists, and he's the type of profile of player that we like. Good, young, energetic and it feels like we can kick on, and he can become even better by having a full season with us. I'm delighted to get him in board!"
