Appearing for a number of Yorkshire based sides, including Harrogate Town, Farsley Celtic and Ossett United, and capable of playing either in midfield, at right back, or even at centre half, Porritt provides Bish and Stampy with plenty of options, whether starting games, or if required from the bench. Adam was part of the Liversedge side that gained promotion to the Northern Premier League a couple of seasons ago, 'Sedge winning the league by some margin. Unfortunately, injury prevented Porritt from testing himself in the NPL last season.

"Unfortunately last season was one for me just to find my feet again, on the back of having an ACL reconstruction, which is now all good. I’m extremely excited to be back settled and gearing up for the new season. And looking forward to making up for lost time."

Securing Porritt's signature is the result of the Holy Blues' support of the player, as he recovered from injury, helping him with his rehabilitation, "I trained with Gainsborough for six months of last season which played a massive part in my recovery and gave me an insight to how they work, which is why I’m extremely excited to get going and hopefully be able to repay that by contributing to a successful season, in a competitive league."

Being in and around the Trinitiy set up, the versatile 25 year old explains, "I’m very familiar with Bish and Stampy and the high standards that they both expect from us for this season, especially coming off the back of last years achievement of reaching the play offs."

That familiarity, with the set up, coupled with the desire to get back out on the pitch, mean that Adam is ready to hit the ground running. A positive sign for the management team, which Bish takes up, as he describes the attributes of his latest addition:

"Adam is again someone who trained with us last season, probably wasn't as match fit as we would have liked, but very good technically. I think he'll fit into the way we want to play, perfectly. Although he's not that old, he does come with experience, he'll be a voice in the dressing room and he is just the type of character that we want."
