At 26 years of age, Danny is at a good age, with a good pedigree, and the type of experience that will help strengthen the side, along the spine. It is hoped that the midfielder will add his know-how in the centre of the park, helping with the development of the younger players within the group, whilst adding to the options at Wilcox's disposal.

"I brought Danny to Farsley last season on loan from Chester. It took him a while to forge his way into the team. Once in, he performed really well, adding physicality and quality. An excellent passer of the ball and a very strong competitor, he will add competition to our squad. I look forward to working with Danny again."

Reunited with his former boss at the Citidel (Throstle Nest to those of an older vintage) and a couple of the current Trinity brood, Bobby Johnson and Lewis Butroid, there is an element of the familiar at Gainsborough, which Danny alludes to as he explains his reasoning behind joining the Blues.

"Excited to be here! I know Russ from my time at Farsley last season where I really enjoyed playing under him. That played a big factor in me coming here, I know what he’s about and he knows what I can bring to the team."

"I'm hoping to get into the team and showing you what I can do, I know it won’t be easy as it’s a good group and the team are in good form of late. My aim is to win as many games as possible and help take us up the table in what will hopefully be a successful season. Looking forward to getting going!"
