Last time out Hyde drew with Guiseley at home. Tuesday night's opponents created lots, but we're pegged back by a Will Longbottom penalty fifteen minutes from time. Russ Wilcox's men will have to be at their best to take down the Tigers, and continue the impressive run of form, that stretches back to the end of September, though the belief will certainly be in the camp as the Holy Blues aim for a fifth straight league win in five.
Hyde just edge the head to head between the two sides in the last five games, though last time the sides met, Russ Wilcox’s men broke a four year run without a win against Hyde, the 4-1 win at the Kal Group Stadium last April, following on from a 2-2 draw back in the November. A 1-1 draw in 2022 separated back to back 1-0 losses to the Tigers at Ewan Fields, so here’s hoping the shift in momentum has swung Trinity’s way.
A quick look at some of the names in the Hyde side, see the likes of Jack Redshaw, the former Manchester City youngster, Connor Heath formerly of Nantwich Town and Stafford Rangers, and Ewan Bange, who was on the mark at the weekend, when he scored against Guiseley in the aforementioned one all draw. They have all been back amongst the goals, as Callum Spooner (with one to his name) the son of Manager, Nick Spooner. He originally stepped up to the National League with Southport, but returned to Hyde in 
late October.
A quick look at the league home form, Trinity are averaging a point a game from their seven home games. Scoring eight and conceding ten. That return only tells part of a story, as in the cups, Trinity have been unbeaten in five home games, scoring nine times. Hyde have picked up 17 of their 33 points on the road, scoring 18 and conceding 17 in their eleven games away from home. Quite a balanced, even return. There will certainly be plenty of interesting side plots to take in. And there isn’t much better than a game under the lights at the Kal Group Stadium, so bring a mate and double the gate!
