That time has seen Trinity play four games to Bamber Bridge's two. A 3-0 win against fellow relegation battlers Matlock and a narrow 2-1 loss away at Champions Macclesfield will have confidence running high in Jamie Milligan’s side. In 18 home games, Bamber Bridge have collected 23 points, the equivalent of two victories more on home turf, as opposed to their successes away from home.

Now, sitting a point outside the relegation zone, thanks to a superior goal difference, Brig are down there, fighting for their lives. And Russ Wilcox’s side will know they will need to be at their best, if they are to pick up a key result, in order to keep the season alive.

Last season, Trinity beat Bamber Bridge 3-1 in the corresponding fixture. Jack Baxter scoring the goal for the hosts after Dec Howe had given the Blues a dream start inside ten minutes. George Hornshaw was also on the scoresheet, as was Lewis Butroid. Butty just making his 100th appearances. Another about to reach a milestone, is Jordan Helliwell. A summer signing, Helliwell has impressed with his tenacity , going on to make over 50 appearances in Gainsborough colours.

Boss, Russ Wilcox has been busy strengthening his squad in the last week. Charlie Hickingbottom came in, in time for his debut on Tuesday night. Replacing the injured Dylan Cogill and partnering his former Barnsley team mate at the heart of the defence. Goalkeeper David Robson has also signed on a short term deal until the end of the season. The move coming with Dylan Wharton suffering with a long term injury niggle, and the close of the Transfer Window on Thursday. The Holy Blues not wanting to be caught missing a player in a key position, during such an important stage in the season.

Elsewhere

Ilkeston and Rylands is an interesting clash. Victories for the Holy Blues and Warrington could see Russ Wilcox’s men on the same number of points, albeit with a weaker Goal Difference than the Robins, but another potential positive step in the right direction!
