A former Hull City youngster and Wales youth international, Robson has appeared for the likes of Crawley and Rochdale. He helped to keep Farsley in the National League North under Russ Wilcox and most recently made eight appearances in NLN, on a short term deal at Alfreton, where he covered for former Trinity keeper, George Willis. David had this to say, as the deal was completed ahead of the Window slamming shut:

"Russ and I have known each other a good few years now and always keep in touch. Leaving Hull was probably overdue for me as I felt I wanted to get out and play football week in week out. I enjoyed it at Rochdale and did well but things out of my control meant I couldn’t extend my stay there, and I am here now, ready to get down to business!"

Robson initially joined the Blues under Liam King and played under Curtis Woodhouse for a couple of games. He returned for his second spell last Spring, making four appearances, conceding three times and keeping two clean sheets in the process in his previous spell. Robson joins Central defender, Charlie Hickingbottom, who signed on loan until the end of the season from Barnsley. Hickingbottom making his debut for Trinity in the 2-1 win over Whitby Town, in midweek.

With skipper Dylan Cogill injured, Hickingbottom stepped into the breech, performing admirably for a player coming in and not having had chances to meet his team mates properly ahead of the game. Charlie is highly thought of, and has played 26 times already in the NPL this season, during a loan spell at Mickleover. There he played at both centre back, and in central midfield. At 20 years of age, Charlie has frequently captained the Under 23s at Barnsley and will look to slot into alongside two former Tykes currently in the Trinity squad.

On the two newest recruits, boss Wilcox explained, "Due to injuries to Dylan Cogill and Dylan Wharton we’ve brought in Charlie Hickingbottom and David Robson. Charlie made an impressive debut the other night in our win over Whitby Town, playing alongside Will Lancaster in the heart of the defence."

"David is no stranger to us after coming in on loan last season from Hull City. He played in four games and did very well. We’ve had to act quickly with the transfer deadline being the 27th of March. Both will be excellent additions to the squad."

Trinity currently sit seventh in the Pitching In Northern Premier League and travel to Bamber Bridge on Saturday, looking to keep up the pressure on the sides in the play-offs and hoping to capitalise on any slips in the final six games of the season. The task will be a tough one though, with Brig having scored eight goals in their last two home games, so the lads will need your backing, with six cup finals remaining, and the unthinkable...
