Guiseley sit third in the table, needing six points from the last two games. And hope that Worksop slip up in their final couple of fixtures to ensure home advantage in both play-off games, should they win their semi-final. Going into this one, they are fifteen points ahead of the Holy Blues. Trinity having elevated their position to seventh, with Easter Saturday’s 3-1 win over Hebburn. Declan Howe netting twice and Fraser Preston again on the scoresheet, as he edges towards his one hundredth appearance for Gainsborough.

The Gainsborough faithful are looking to travel in good numbers for the final away game of the season. Travelling in party mood, the Trinity faithful are set to rock their Hawian shirt look – and will be wanting to celebrate a remarkable season, with another three points added to the seasonal tally, whilst showing their appreciation to those players that have given their all throughout the season.

Unbelievably, a sixth player is set to smash through the fifty appearances for Trinity this season, should he be selected. Local lad Lewis Butroid closing in on double figures for goals and assists this term, also racked up his century of games earlier this season, but if he is involved on Monday, or next Saturday (who’s to say he won’t be) he will join Fraser Preston, Jordan Helliwell, Declan Howe, Will Lancaster & Ashey Jackson – the last of whom, who made it to fifty in the victory over Hebburn.

Former Trinity player, Will Longbottom, was on the mark for Guiseley on Saturday. Netting from the penalty spot in their win over Blyth Spartans. His first goal since the beginning of January. Recording five clean sheets in their last eight games, or conceding two in seven, if you discount the Macclesfield game, Guiseley are a very tough nut to crack, consistently, they have won 37 of their points at Nethermoor, from 20 games, but only seven more than Trinity have collected on the road. Certainly a reason for Russ Wilcox’s men to go into this one believing they claim another scalp. And make it a hat-trick of play-off contenders that the Blue Army have taken points from in their own backyard. Let’s see you all at Guiseley, in good numbers, in great voice and believe that anything can happen. Let’s continue to end the season in style. Both on & off the pitch… Blue Army!!

Prices for Bank Holiday Monday’s fixture, which is payable on the gate, either by cash or card, are set at Adults £13, Concessions £9, Under 18s £5 & Under 11s £1. Gates are open from 1:30pm, ahead of the game, with plenty of exciting food choices available for this Bank Holiday bonanza. Yorkshire burgers and beers, near turnstiles 3 & 4, or handmade pies and pasties from the Lions' Diner. Choices set to keep those bellies full for the football!

Elsewhere

Five teams are currently still involved in the scrap for survival, though it’s Matlock with the most to do. Already five points from safety, with six points to play for. Hebburn sit five clear, with a better goal difference & Whitby are six clear, but with a worse goal difference… it could all be over, if Ilkeston beat Matlock.

Edit, news has just broken that Matlock Town have been advised of a three point deduction – for fielding an ineligible player in their recent 4-0 win over Hyde United. The three points meaning even a maximum haul wouldn’t be enough for the Gladiators to survive. This is likely to be reflected in the league table come Tuesday.
