Adapting his role, to a deeper, holding role, Bobby's game has become more disciplined. Carrying out the important role, that allows the legs around him to play with energy and freedom. Winning numerous first contacts & second balls, Johnson adds a valuable blend to the midfield engine room as Russ Wilcox sums up, "Bobby Johnson has also signed for next season, adding quality and experience to the group."

Bobby was unable to contain his delight as he admitted, "I am delighted to be back at Gainsborough for another season. I’ve loved my time at the club and there’s great people on and off the pitch. I’ve transitioned into a deeper role this past year, but I’m aiming to at least chip in with a few goals next year as well. I’m ready for a break, but definitely looking forward to another promising season."

Bobby will begin his third season at the club in the 2025/26 season, hopeful of reaching a century of appearances, something possible with boss, Russ Wilcox’s comments recently in regards his preparation and ability to look after himself, particularly with reference to the Easter Bank Holiday double header, "I was worried about him not having played too many games towards the end of the season, with a couple of knocks and niggles, but for him to play two ninety minutes in 48 hours, tells you a lot about his preparation, and the togetherness of the group."

Bobby has really stepped up his performances in the heart of the Gainsborough midfield, and has thrived on the responsibility as one of the side's senior players. We look forward to seeing another season of the 31 year old boss the centre of the park!
