Robson, now 23, has had three short spells with the Holy Blues making a dozen appearances, making a positive impressing on each occasion. When not appearing for the Holy Blues, or Hull City, the goalkeeper has had opportunities at Farsley Celtic, Crawley and has also been capped by Wales at U21 level.

Russ Wilcox outlined, "David Robson now joins us permanently after his loan last season and short contract this season just finished. He now needs more game time to build on his development."

Further experience last season at Rochdale (in the National League) and Alfreton Town (in National League North) prior to his latest spell at Trinity, have helped Robson to hone his skills, whilst feeding his desire to succeed. David explained, "I'm really happy to get the deal done and especially early as a lot of the time in football you can go through the summer with a lot of uncertainty. Of not knowing where you’re going to be by the time the season comes round, so that’s nice to know during the summer - I have it all sorted."

Robson pointed at the vast amount of experience the Trinity management posses and the draw they had on him - "I’ve played for Russ three times now and I’ve enjoyed it every time and especially this season just gone working with Kevin Pressman. I don’t think there’s a club in this league that has the experience in the game Russ and Kevin have, so that’s a massive bonus as well for myself."

Looking ahead to the 2025/26 season, the 'keeper comes in, with high expectations, "I think next season we need to be pushing to get promoted. I think the club has shown this season that they’re very much capable of that - considering how many games they had because of the cup runs!"
