While Trinity were kicking off their pre-season with a victory, Bottesford were also winning. A 2-1 win over Bridlington Town. Former Gainsborough forward Jack McMenemy grabbing a brace. A four nil defeat at the hands of Scunthorpe United - and a 3-0 win against Brigg Town, wrap up Town's friendlies, so far - as the side from the NCEL, managed by Leigh Herrick, will be looking to add to their pre-season W's.

Last season, Bottesford finished 16th out of 20 teams, with 44 points from their 38 games; seventeen points clear of relegated Winterton Rangers, in the league above Club Thorne. The step up in standard, and the extreme heat in the 3pm sun, will provide the next step into Wilcox's troops preparations for the new NPL season.

Boss, Wilcox will look to shuffle his pack as he looks to get those all important pre-season minutes into his squad. With a small squad to hand, the players will be fully aware of starting places up for grabs and be keen to stake a claim for a regular starting spot, when the competitive fixtures come around.

Frank Mulhern is expected to feature, having been unavailable in midweek & with no injuries reported from the game against Thorne, Wilcox is again expected to field a strong side, with Development team players again set to be involved. Underlining the blossoming relationship between the side's at the club.
