It’s a battle of two former Football League sides, for this Valentines Day’s festive feast of football on the Northolme. And the boys can’t wait to get back on home turf for what will be a rare home outing. The only one in six games, as Trinity have caught up on a huge glut of away games that have previously fallen victim to the weather!
Workington, despite their league position, won’t be an easy proposition. Managed by Billy Barr, the Reds have only suffered one defeat in their last six (four draws) that has seen them close the gap at the bottom of the table, down to seven points from safety, having the likes of Hyde and Whitby nervously starting to look over their shoulders.
A look at this season's record, for the Reds, Workington have won twice, and drawn five on the road. Exactly 50% of their total points so far this campaign. Conceding at two a game, away from home, whilst only averaging marginally over one goal a game.
Jonny Margetts, with ten league goals to his name, is a single goal away from breaking into the top three scorers in the division. And gives boss Russ Wilcox another option, as some of the injuries begin to clear up. Ashton Offler is available following his red card at Bamber Bridge - the central defender is set to be ruled out of the away game against Whitby Town on Tuesday. Aaron Simpson is nearing a comeback, whilst 
only loan Henry Brown looks like he has overcome his knock sustained away at Leek Town. All in all, there are plenty of options for the boss, should he wish to freshen things up, following the battle of Bamber Bridge!
Previous Meetings
Since 2012, the Holy Blues have held the upper hand. Eight victories, two draws and one defeat, that came at Borough Park, in November 2013. Russ Wilcox's men will be looking to complete the double, this season, on Saturday. A win, to pair with Lewis Butroid & Frank Mulhern's first half goals, back in October, will go a long way to boosting the Trinity play-off aspirations.
In the last eleven games, the Blues have found the net 30 times, compared to Workington's12, with Trinity keeping four clean sheets in that.period. History however, guarantees nothing in football. And the Blues will have to be at their best to register the win!

The Blues Club Food Kiosk will not be open for Saturday's home game against Workington. However Evie's Kitchen will be on site, situated behind the away dugout, at the Kal Group Stadium. The Club on the Park & Trenton's Sweet Shop remain open as usual. Match tickets can be purchased on the turnstiles. Cash/ card and Season Tickets are all valid methods of entry.
