The North East born centre back made his debut at home to Morpeth Town on January 17th, going on to make seven appearances during his loan spell. He scored the only goal of the game, as he helped the Blues keep a clean sheet on debut, going on to help take fourteen points from 21 (losing only once) a run that has seen Trinity climb to within touching distance of the play-off places.

The welcome Leckie has received since joining, has helped him make up his mind & commit through until the end of the 2026/27 season, "I’m really happy to be extending my stay at Gainsborough, the players, staff and fans are great and I get a really good feel about the club. I look forward to contributing to the team and push to get play-offs."

There are twelve games left for the Holy Blues, starting with tomorrow's game away at third-placed FC United of Manchester. A victory could lift Trinity to within two points of tomorrow's hosts, but the permanent addition of the no nonsense defender, shows that the Blues are not just looking at the here and now, but are already actively looking towards building a strong nucleus for next season.
