The Trinity support look set to travel in good numbers to back Russ Wilcox's Holy Blues, who are looking to continue an excellent start to 2026. Following on from Tuesday night's late winner away at Whitby Town (Ashley Jackson popping up four minutes into added time, with his first of the season) Trinity will be hoping for more joy on the road.

This one is most certainly a crunch fixture. With one of the top teams at home, in the division (two league defeats/three draws in fourteen games Mark Beesley has his side picking up points regularly. Wilcox has done the same for Trinity away from home. The most wins recorded, the Holy Blues have so far won eight on the road, picking up 26 points (from 14) with a positive eight goal difference. A win for the Blues and either Stockton or Warrington Rylands failing to win their games against Ashton United and Ilkeston Town, respectively, would see Trinity in the play-off positions by 5pm. Incentive indeed for the Holy Blues.

Ashton Offler is back in contention for Saturday's game. The central defender having completed his one match ban on Tuesday. His return gives the boss an additional selection headache, with plenty of options vying for starts. Aaron Simpson will be pushing for a start too, after getting half an hour under his belt, away at Whitby Town. The competition for places is something that is stronger than at any point in Wilcox's tenure - and is something that has been needed during this manic run of games, that has gotten the Blues within touching distance of the play-off spots.

Previous Meetings

Stretching back to 2015, FC United have the bragging rights, although Trinity have beaten the Rebels on four occasions, with two draws played out between the sides, United have won ten. Trinity's last win in this fixture seven games ago. Some people (of a Blue persuasion) may think it's time for another win against the Moston based side. That game between the sides, saw Trinity run out 3-1 winners at Broadhurst Park. Goals that day coming from Liam Waldock, Harry Lewis & Curtis Durose. Dontai Gabbidon (now on loan at Hyde) was the man on the scoresheet for the Reds.

Earlier this season, back in October, FC won by a goal to nil at the Kal Group Stadium. And this weekend, Trinity will be looking to secure a turnaround in fortunes.
