Johnson's impact during the first half of the 2025/26 campaign was clear for all to see. A commanding presence in the middle of the park, he combined quality on the ball with tireless work ethic and leadership, becoming a key figure in the Trinity side. His performances whilst wearing the captain's armband, demonstrated a responsibility he embraced with pride and distinction.

Unfortunately, injury somewhat curtailed his season at the halfway point of the campaign, denying both player and club the opportunity to build on a promising start. Despite his absence from the pitch, Johnson remained an influential figure around the squad, continuing to support teammates and maintain the high standards that have made him such a valued member of the dressing room.

Now fully focused on the future, the midfielder is eager to put those injury frustrations behind him and play a major role in what promises to be an exciting season at the Kal Group Stadium. Johnson's retention is another positive step for the Holy Blues as preparations for the 2026/27 campaign gather momentum.

His experience, leadership qualities and ability to influence games make him an important asset for Wilcox and his coaching staff, while supporters will be pleased to see another key member of the squad retained. Bobby is thrilled to reaffirm his commitment to the Holy Blues, as he looks to continue his journey with the club,

"Delighted to be back for a 4th year at the club. Despite missing out on play-offs last year it was still an impressive season. The FA cup runs we’ve had two years on the bounce is important for the club, but we just ran out of steam in the last month, which was tough to take."

"It’s good to see the core of the squad staying together again and shows it’s a great club to play for. We’ve been building each year and it’s a promising start to recruitment so we’re hopeful we can go one step further in the league this time. Looking forward to getting going at the end of the month."

Bobby represents the seventeenth member of the 2026/27 squad, joining the already contracted Jack Leckie, new signings, Connor Brown, Elliott Whitehouse, Theo Williams and fellow retained players: Lewis Butroid, Aaron Simpson, Ashley Jackson, Harrison Beeden, Jacob McLoughlin, Harvey Sutcliffe, George Hornshaw. Fraser Preston, Frank Mulhern, Jordan Helliwell, Javelle Clarke and Sisa Tuntulwana (transfer listed).
