The 6 foot 2 inch stopper links up with the Holy Blues having made forty appearances for the Nash last season, helping his side to twelve wins in those matches, keeping seven clean sheets.

Prior to joining Curzon Ashton, Hawkins spent three years at Leamington, also in the NLN, where he racked up 132 appearances, keeping 42 clean sheets. During his time at the Brakes, he played a vital role in helping them regain promotion back to Step 2, something he would be keen to achieve here at Gainsborough,

‘I had a great conversation with the manager a few weeks ago and I was very impressed with the direction that the club is going. I’m looking forward to the challenge of pushing for the play-offs and building on all the success the club has had in recent years.’

‘I’m delighted to be joining Gainsborough, last year was tough for me, but I’m so excited for a fresh start, with a point to prove and show what I can do.’

The goalkeeper started his career with Burton Albion, where he spent a couple of loan spells at Gresley & Mickleover, prior to the loan that turned permanent at Leamington.

The Rotherham based stopper takes the gloves from David Robson, who has expressed a desire to return to the full time game, following a positive season between the sticks for the former Hull City youngster.

Whilst we wish Robbo all the best in his future endeavours, we welcome Callum to the football club. Boss Russ Wilcox had this to add, as he secured the number one ahead of the sides' return to pre-season training on Tuesday evening,

"I'm delighted to bring Callum into the group. He's a great age, with an abundance of experience at this level and above. He has tasted promotion from this league, which is a real positive. We are looking forward to working with him. Welcome to Gainsborough, Callum."
