By the time the game kicks off at 7.45 on Tuesday, both sides will know their prospective opposition, in the Third Qualifying Round. That added intrigue may be something for the supporters to get excited about – but the players will surely just be focused on the game in hand.
Connor Brown and Theo Williams will be looking to add to their tallies in the Emirates FA Cup, under the lights, with Brown keen to net his first home goal, whilst Fraser Preston will be hoping to add to his back to back Non League Paper Man of the Match awards, in each of the last two cup games.
It will be a tough battle against a fellow Step 3 side, with the quick turnaround sure to add to the intensity. It’s a cup clash not to be missed. And you can be a part of it on the terraces and in the stands. Put on something blue – and come roar on the Trinity. Be our twelfth man, and cheer us over the line! Looking for some reasons to take heart, Trinity fans?
It’s Russ’ 150th game – and sixteenth competitive home game under the Kal Group Stadium lights! The Holy Blues have only been beaten three times in the fifteen games played. Winning nine & drawing three times!
If that’s not enough – Our own programme contributor Phil Anderson has uncovered an incredible post World War II record! Since football restarted, after the conflict, your Holy Blues have fea
tured in 37 cup replays (including some second replays – and on neutral venues). Tuesday night will be finished on the night though, whether the tie needs extra time on penalties – we will discover who will entertain Antsey Nomads in the Third Qualifying Round. In those 37 cup replays, Trinity have won 24 times, almost double the number of defeats! So there are a couple of omens!
Match Programme
Thanks to our fantastic band of volunteers, we have been able to turn around a top quality Matchday Programme for Tuesday. Priced at £3 a copy, there is a special piece congratulating Russ on what is his 150th game in charge of the Blues. A selection of tributes from players including Will Lancaster, Sisa Tuntulwana & Declan Howe, plus a couple of the current crop.
That. Photos, plenty to read on the opposition, a delve into the past, and lots of regular contributors, providing plenty of pre-match reading. Or for Brakes fans, on the way home!
