Wilcox opting to pursue a move for the midfielder, who came through the Mansfield Town Academy. He made his debut in a 3-0 EFL League One win against Exeter City, as well as gaining further experience of the men's game with time spent on loan at our Third Round FA Cup opponents: Antsey Nomads.

Russ explained, "Myself and KP saw Ronnie play when we watched Sherwood play at Newark on the Wednesday before our FA cup game at Sherwood." "He impressed us both with his fully committed performance showing good attributes and quality in the game. He then played well against us in the cup, scoring their second goal."

Signing for Sherwood Colliery back in August, Kokkinos made nine appearances scoring an impressive six times, including grabbing a brace in his final outing for Sherwood - in a 4-1 win over Clay Cross in midweek. As a nineteen year old, he was named the Stags' Academy Player of the Season, demonstrating a real talent.

Now still only twenty years old, Ronnie is keen to keep improving, and will have aspirations on continuing to climb the leagues, and in Wilcox, Kokkinos believes he is just the man to continue developing him: "I'm really excited for the opportunity to play for Gainsborough. They're a really well established club with a rich history."

"They have a great manager and following of fans. Having played against them they have a great group of players and I'm looking forward to playing alongside them. I am keen to show the fans what I'm capable of as I want to help this club win as many football matches as possible!"

Kokkinos' signing boosts the Gainsborough midfield, with the anticipated long term injury to Club Captain, Bobby Johnson & midfield engine, Jordan Helliwell being forced off in Tuesday night's Emirates FA Cup Second Qualifying Round Replay win over Leamington at the Kal Group Stadium. Wilcox reiterated,

"With injuries to Bobby and Jordan and a full fixture list in October, with the backing of the board, we have brought him to the club. Still only 20 with ambition to develop he can play in numerous positions. Welcome to Gainsborough Ronnie."

He is eligible for Saturday's trip to Bury in the FA Trophy, but due to my understanding, he will not be eligible, unless the Holy Blues make the First Round for the third successive season. Welcome to Gainsborough, Ronnie! We can't wait to see you in action for the Holy Blues!
