Instantly recognisable with his mop of black hair, Luca is of Italian descent, on his father's side. During his time with the Imps, he enjoyed a successful loan period at Spalding where he was voted Player of the Month for February and caught the eye with a couple of Man of the Match performances. Woodhouse, on this announcement, purred, "I’m really happy to get Gianluca in with us, his attitude and application in everything he does has earned him a deal."

"He’s only just turned 18 and I think he’s going to be a really good player when he develops. He’s both footed and can play anywhere in defence or midfield so will be a valuable member of our squad."

The latest recruit paid tribute to the faith shown in him by boss Curtis Woodhouse as he shares his thoughts with the Club Website, "I am absolutely buzzing to sign for Gainsborough Trinity. It is a really exciting time for the club with such a strong squad for the coming season. I have to say a special thanks to the manager for the faith he has shown in me. I will give 100% to earn my place."
