The game will be a tough test for Shaw's men is in store, as they look to gain match fitness in preparation for the league curtain raiser, just under a month away, when we welcome Witton Albion on Saturday 14th August. The fixtures which were released at 8pm on Wednesday can be viewed in full here. Building on the narrow defeat at Bottesford Town last weekend, the Holy Blues have trained together a couple of times during the week, building up to the fixture, which will be played on Yaxley’s 3G Playing Surface, which looks set to provide a different kind of challenge for the group.

Ahead of the match, Shaw enthused, "Yaxley will be a different type of test to the Bottesford game. It’s a fast, high tempo artificial surface which will give us some different physical returns, test us a bit more tactically with and without the ball, but one that we’re all looking forward too. The lads have trained very well this week. They are coming together as a group. The trialists that have been with us for a while now are pushing really hard to earn themselves a contact, and they’ll get another opportunity this weekend to impress."

Shaw continued, "We will get more minutes into the contract of players this week, as we build their fitness whilst trying to keep them safe and away from injury. But again, I’m looking forward to try some more things out that we’ve been doing in training this week. Thanks to Yaxley for hosting us, and I think it’ll be a good game for where we are in our pre-season schedule, with another really exciting game mid-week on home turf."

For those looking to make the trip down to Yaxley, the In2itive Park Stadium is located on Leading Drove, using the postcode PE7 3NA. Admission prices for the game, payable on the gate, are £5 adults, £3 concessions and £1 for U16s. Please be prepared to follow any COVID regulations and signage around the ground, and follow the advice of stewards and club officials operating on match day. We look forward to seeing as many of you making the game as possible.

Trinity’s first home friendly of pre-season follows this game, when we host Lincoln City in the Lincolnshire County Cup, Wednesday 21st July, 7.45pm kick off. Tickets for this fixture can be bought in advance through our ticket portal. Hopefully following the announcements on 19th July, attendance caps will be lifted. Until then though, the only way you can guarantee your spot at the game is by purchasing your ticket in advance.
