Twenty year old, left sided defender, Rice, is a product of the Sheffield Wednesday Academy and made his first team debut last season in the Owls' FA Cup victory over Exeter City back in January. Keen to play at the highest level Rice has been impressed with the level of professionalism exhibited by the Holy Blues and Shaw feels he will fit into the group with relative ease.

Head Coach, Tom Shaw was keen to reiterate the qualities Rice will bring to the squad and how he fits the profile of player he is trying to attract to Gainsborough Trinity:

"We are really excited by the capture of Issac. He made his debut for Sheffield Wednesday who were still a Championship side last season. He has been a young professional for a number of years and has an excellent background and pedigree. He is mobile, strong and has a really cultured left foot, which will help serve several roles in our shape and structure. He wants a platform and a healthy environment to showcase his talents – and hopefully we can help him with that."

"Issac has his sights and ambitions are higher up the pyramid, but he knows he has got to work really hard to achieve those and hopefully Gainsborough Trinity can benefit from another young, hungry and talented player. He lives locally, knows of Gainsborough, and he knows what it takes to play for the football club, and we have captured a talented young player to join our ranks".

Welcome to the club Issac as you make the next step on the football ladder. As you arrive, we wish you every success.
