Atherton so far this season have won six games, in the league and lost four of their twelve home games this season, but haven't won in five attempts, since victory over Radcliffe on 'Boxing Day'. A win against National League North Chorley does serve as a warning as to the Colls' effectiveness on home soil. Trinity trail Saturday's opponents by six points in the league standings, having played a game more than the Colls, so with ambitions of climbing the table, a positive result is imperative to keep on the coat tails of the sides sitting in the top half of the table.

Last time out, Trinity matched another of the sides in the top half, almost securing a second consecutive, slender victory, at home (this time against Stafford Rangers) but Cieron Keane's late wonder strike was immediately cancelled out, leaving us having to be content with a solitary point.

Head Coach Shaw has scoured the market for recruits to bolster his squad, but despite leaving no stone unturned at the time of going to press, no new additions have been confirmed. Meanwhile Joe Parkin, Joe Wilson, Toby Gould and Jack Gibson edge closer to fitness. Parkin returning to light training, while Gibson took part in his first contact training session in midweek following his ankle injury, picked up on loan at Frickley at the start of November.
