Reon Potts Joins Shaw's Front Line

The first addition to Tom Shaw's front line is Reon Potts. A name that may be familiar to the Trinity faithful, Potts trialled under Curtis Woodhouse. And despite catching the eye with a handful of goals in pre-season, was offered a two year deal at National League side York City. A strong forward, capable of linking play and running in behind, Reon had a positive spell on loan earlier this season at Ossett United scoring at a rate of one in two with six goals in a dozen games.

Still only 21 years of age, the former Scunthorpe United youngster will relish the step up and get amongst the goals. Initially signing for a one month period, Potts fills the void created by Cameron Johnson's unfortunate injury picked up at home, last week. Thanks go to the one and only Gainsborough Viking, Kingsley James. Now the Assistant Manager at York, Kings was quick to help out his fellow midfielder Shaw and his former side with the loan of Potts.

"I spent a pre-season here a couple of years ago, really enjoyed it. Gainsborough is a great, well run club with good fans. I'm hoping to come in and score some goals and help the team get up the league."

The paperwork has been submitted and ratified by the FA and Northern Premier League. And he goes into contention for tomorrow's home game against FC United of Manchester, kick off at 3pm.
