With his creative talent, eye for goal and experience in the centre, Damo had this to say about the signing: "We are really pleased to have Danny with us. I have known Danny a long time and he has played at this level and above in the past. His situation and plans changed all of a sudden last week and when we spoke on Saturday, it was another simple conversation. He understands what Bish and I expect and understands what the club is about. He has loads of ability and will add some more goals and creativity from midfield to the group."

Previously having won scholar of the year at the City Ground and captaining the Youth Team, before a two year spell at Alfreton Town, where he scored ten goals in 94 appearances, Meadows has been a popular player within the dressing room. From the Impact Arena, he joined Boston United, for a short period before moving to Grantham.

At Grantham he enjoyed a prolific period in front of goal, grabbing 12 goals in 56 games. After leaving the Gingerbreads, the now 29 year old returned home to the town of his birth, spending the intervening years in Newark - at Flowserve, most recently being unveiled by the newly formed Newark and Sherwood United. During his time at Step Five, Meadows was named captain and was regularly on the scoresheet popping up with a number of important goals as his side's regularly challenged at the right end of the table.

On his switch, Meadows revealed, "Once my situation changed last week I spoke to Damo at the weekend and the decision was an easy one, Gainsborough is a well run non league club with a very nice pitch and I have heard nothing but good things about it. It's great to get this opportunity to play for this club and I can't wait to get started. Up the Gainsborough!"
