He is of course, the son of Rotherham's First Team Manager, Paul Warne. Mackenzie, or Mack as he is known, is a central midfielder with an eye for a pass and very composed on the ball. Mack showed Millers' fans what he can offer during last season’s Papa John’s Trophy campaign, when he appeared for United against Manchester City U21s, making his debut as substitute during the Championship side's 5-0 victory.

A more advanced midfielder, Curtis Durose joined Rotherham United later, following a spell with Nottingham Forest, but instantly established himself as a key player for their Academy, earning himself the captain’s armband in the process. A combative midfielder and a real leader on the pitch, he demonstrated these attributes in the Millers' FA Youth Cup last season against Doncaster Rovers and West Bromwich Albion, scoring in both games. Durose also made his senior debut against Man City in the Papa John's Trophy, having started the game.

Both Mack and Curtis will be looking to emulate Ben Wiles in the next few seasons, as they look to progress towards first team football and hold down regular spots in the Championship. Joint Manager, Neal Bishop explained how the Holy Blues have been able to attract the highly rated Championship youngsters,

"I’m delighted both boys have joined us. I know both Rotherham manager Paul Warne and first team coach, Matty Hamshaw and we are delighted they have entrusted us with these two lads. Me and Damo both went to watch them in pre-season and they both have the energy and quality to contribute positively to the group."

Both players arrive at the Dave Longstaff Martin and Co Arena on an initial one month loan deal, in the first instance. Thank you to Rotherham for facilitating this move. And we welcome Mackenzie and Curtis to Gainsborough. We're looking forward to seeing you both in Trinity colours.
