As part of the England team’s continued involvement in the FIFA 2022 Qatar World Cup, the Directors are delighted to continue offering reduced admission, with adults priced at £10, concessions £5 and Under 16s (accompanied by a paying adult) £1. We are all hopeful that this offer will still be in place for next weekend’s visit of South Shields! With the icy blast currently sweeping the United Kingdom, it will be vital to keep an eager eye across social media for all the latest news regarding the fixture. We will endeavour to make any decisions and post news regarding pitch inspections as early as possible, to assist both our visitors and long distant volunteers and supporters as much notice as possible regarding any changes to plan.

As reported on social media earlier in the week, we announced the recalls of Fin Shrimpton and Harry Lewis to their parent club, Scunthorpe United. The pair have played a fantastic part in the side currently sitting third in the table and having spent time recently at the top of the Pitching In Northern Premier League table. We wish both players every success in their future careers. Blues' boss Neal Bishop is now busy looking at options to bolster his squad that is now low on numbers.

Dylan Cogill is set to return to the squad, having served his one match suspension for totting up five yellow cards against Hyde last weekend. Cogill’s return gives Bishop options, both in terms of shape and personnel, having opted to shift Isaac Rice to centre back last time out, and losing the former Sheffield Wednesday youngsters’ bite in the middle of the park. Prosper Keto is in contention for a starting spot, having taken his place amongst the substitutes for the game last weekend, with the potential to add more pace and drive down the right hand side.

Unfortunately however, it looks as though Cieron Keane is out for the season. The results of his recent knee surgery not what anyone at the football club were hoping for. Whilst undergoing keyhole surgery, the surgeon found substantial damage that was repaired whilst Keano was under the knife. Unfortunately meaning the popular midfielder’s minutes this season appear to be limited to his brief cameo against Matlock back on August Bank Holiday Monday. Everybody at the club wish Keano a speedy recovery, following this extremely disappointing news. Stay strong Cieron!

While the Holy Blues were slipping to a 1-0 defeat to Hyde, former Gainsborough man Curtis Morrison was condemning Rylands to a 90th minute defeat by the same scoreline. The Dabbers seem to be making it a bit of a habit to be scoring point winning goals, having done the same against ourselves, Hyde and now Warrington Rylands in recent weeks. Since the opening day victory over Rylands, the side playing at their highest level since they were formed in 1906 have undergone major changes, with Manager David McNabb replaced in the dugout, with only five members of their sixteen man squad (from the defeat to Nantwich) featuring in the squad for the opening day of the campaign. The 0-3 away victory secured by Neal Bishop’s (and Damon Parkinson’s, at the time) side.

Ten of Trinity’s opening day match day squad were involved on Saturday in our last fixture, with boss Neal Bishop a late substitute on the opening day, concentrating on management, rather than donning the boots at present. The opening day of the season saw Jack Dyche open the scoring for the Holy Blues inside 15 seconds, before skipper Andrew Wright scored from the penalty spot, and Clayton Donaldson nodded home from an Ethan Bojang free kick early in the second half as Trinity opened the campaign in style.

Our mascots for the afternoon are Hattie and Evelyn. Let’s be hoping it is a double celebration for the sisters as Evelyn is celebrating her 8th birthday on Sunday! Please give the pair a warm welcome as they lead the team out ahead of the game!

The Blues Club Bar is open from 12pm tomorrow. Due to an event in the concert room, they will not be able to serve any supporters in the concert room before the match, at half time, or when the game is finished. You will still be able to get your drinks and be served in the main bar, but if you wish to take your drinks into the ground, please be mindful when ordering, as they will need to be in plastic glasses as usual.
